For IT teams: a note you can forward

Publisher left Microsoft 365 on 1 October 2026, and your staff still have years of .pub files. Pubwork is a free website that opens them. You can forward this page as it is.
What it does
- Opens .pub files from Publisher 97 to Microsoft 365, and keeps them editable.
- Converts to PDF, Word (.docx), JPG and PNG, one file at a time or whole folders at once.
- Prints booklets, labels, business cards and mail merges; has templates for new work.
- Interface in English, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese and Italian.
Why it is safe to allow
- Nothing is installed: it is a web page that runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, including on managed Chromebooks.
- Files are never uploaded. They are read and converted inside the browser on the user’s own device; the server only delivers the program’s files.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no cookies set by Pubwork.
- Open source under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, built on libmspub, the reader LibreOffice uses.
